{"id":12,"date":"2016-09-06T17:13:56","date_gmt":"2016-09-06T17:13:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/overachiever.blog\/?p=12"},"modified":"2026-09-05T16:10:21","modified_gmt":"2026-09-05T16:10:21","slug":"triple-4k-monitors-backgrounds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/overachiever.blog\/?p=12","title":{"rendered":"Triple 4K Monitors &#8211; Backgrounds"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of a workstation upgrade in January I grabbed a video card (that was more than) capable of driving 3x 4K monitors simultaneously \u2013 along with 3x Dell P2415Q Monitors. I\u2019ve now been using 3x 4K monitors for over half a year (previously I was using 3x 1680&#215;1050 monitors \u2013 so this has been quite the upgrade), and I\u2019ve got to say that after all of this time, I\u2019m still totally and completely, <strong>head-over-heals in love<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Two Minor Issues<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have, however, run into two very <strong>MINOR<\/strong> issues running these monitors (and one huge problem that I\u2019ll cover in a subsequent post as it\u2019s not so much a 4K problem as a Windows\/Display Port problem).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>1. Where\u2019s my Cursor?<\/strong> In a sea of nearly 25 million pixels (each 4K monitor sports 3840 x 2160 resolution \u2013 or 8.29 million pixels each), I\u2019ve found myself chuckling a few times at the few seconds it can occasionally take to find a tiny 32 x 32 pixel cursor hiding amongst one of my 3 monitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>2. Backgrounds \/ Wallpaper.<\/strong> Unsurprisingly, there just aren\u2019t that many great backgrounds that remain crisp and non-pixelated when being displayed on 3x 4K monitors running side by side \u2013 or at 11,520 x 2160 resolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Some Options<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Happily, I have found a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wallpaperfusion.com\/Search\/?Monitors=3\">a site<\/a> that provide &#8216;good enough&#8217; resolution backgrounds or wallpaper that have helped provide me with some options or backgrounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More importantly, I\u2019ve also found that iOS Panoramas typically provide for fantastic triple-monitor backgrounds \u2013 they\u2019re easy enough to take, and provide plenty of pixels to keep everything very crisp and vibrant when running triple 4K monitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To that end, I\u2019ll be sharing a few of the #triple4K backgrounds I\u2019ve taken during my own adventures \u2013 starting with this panorama (of Upper Ball Lake \u2013 in Northern Idaho\u2019s Selkirk Mountains) I took last week while on my Solo 2016 backpacking trip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/d.pr\/AQFh\/1jICBzOn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/3to9blog.overachiever.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/UpperBallLake_2016_Small.jpg\"><\/a><br><em>Early Morning on Upper Ball Lake<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As part of a workstation upgrade in January I grabbed a video card (that was more than) capable of driving 3x 4K monitors simultaneously \u2013 along with 3x Dell P2415Q Monitors.
